Bakery 350 Degrees

Waking up to the smell of bacon can be seen to many as euphoric. A stimulant like no other to start ones day. The slight crisp of a freshly baked pastry can take a slow morning and kick it into high gear. This is all to say that breakfast for many can make or break the day they are about to have, for me on the weekends this is certainly true. When a breakfast sandwich is in my orbit, I admit truthfully it becomes a must have on my never ending list of food that I will run to consume. The perfect checklist is as follows, crispy outside of the pastry with a fluffy/billowy inside, a salty piece of meat, hearty eggs to fill ones stomach and then some sort of sauce or jam that will bring it all together. Sometimes this is sweet, other times it is spicy, and even a few times I have had a creamy sauce.

Bakery 350 is an entity that is known to many patrons of Pittsburgh as the place to go and enjoy a breakfast sandwich that will certainly point your day in the right direction. The everything biscuit has enough flavor where on its own you would love to eat it. Then they put a salty, greasy sausage patty on the sandwich that absolutely brings it to another level. Some eggs are laid upon the sandwich and then pepper jelly is spread on the biscuit before placing on the sandwich. The slight spiciness and mild sweetness of the jelly is the star, not in a way that overshadows everything but in a way that it becomes the perfect assist. This sandwich did not have any bad bites as I remember, each bite did not get better. No, this sandwich prided itself on consistency, with each bite being the absolute best it could be. I fully recommend going here and grabbing a sandwich one morning when you are on your way up to Mount Washington.
