el pueblo Mexican market Taco Review #1
The Order was as follows: Three tacos one carne asada and two al pastor. Carne asada is a steak taco that has a special seasoning or marinade with it. Carne Asada tacos are usually topped with onions, cilantro, and limes on the side. The Al Pastor is a marinated pork with some chipotle like sauce and has onions, cilantro, and pineapple. Both taco varieties came together with a pepper on the side and some limes, the flavor was alright nothing too special. The Carne Asada had a little more liquid than I remember in normal carne asada. There wasn’t much flavor which is not normal for what is normally a flavorful taco.
An Al Pastor Taco is my go to taco, they have the best flavor and I fell in love with them in Mexico one of my first times in the country. They have a smoky, sweet, and salty flavor with a hint of freshness from the onion, cilantro, and pineapple. In these tacos all I really got was a slight flavor of pineapple, the overall flavor profile was not the best I have had.
If your in the area and have a hankering for tacos then these will suffice, defiantly better than the bell but don’t drive 40 minutes like I did for them. The salsa Verde was alright as well and it did come with plenty of stuff on the side.
Carne Asada Taco: 6.1/10
Al Pastor: Taco 4.6/10
The three tacos with the onions on top and the salsa verde served on the side
Pretty much the same picture
The cooked pepper was nice, the pastor meat needed to be a little crispier
